Lower School

Our lower school is broken into Kindergarten-1st grade (K/1) and 2nd - 4th grade.

AALC provides teachers in the Lower and Middle School with the flexibility to build or select their own curriculum that provides students unique and individualized learning opportunities while meeting state learning standards. AALC also utilizes the Eureka Math curriculum for 2nd-8th  grade.

Kindergarten and 1st grade have a class size of 10 students with both grades together in a multi-age classroom. The students work on their beginning reading, math, and social skills through projects, activities, and games. The goal of the K/1 class is to help students build a strong academic and social foundation that will set them up for success in school and in the world
